My second time maternity leave has been started since Oct. 19th and it's been one month and half, and I've been enjoying this slow life with my current family members and cleaned up "wanted to do, but couldn't due to the lack of time/energy" stuff.
Nov. 28th - today is the due date and the baby yet decided to come to this world, it's full moon tonight and even with that moon power, he won't come?? I've been hoping to welcome the baby on Dec. the first, so my hope might be come true. The count down until the due is now over and I will enjoy waiting time from now on.
Thanks for Okada family, it was really really truly amazing 2 months ever in my life. I am so happy that we can stay with our new family member very closely. Definitely this two months will be our turning point. We are so tired for the return today, so I'll post some remaining tomorrow.
Thank you Mitsu chan, Tae chan, Marie chan, Zen kun and Hanako grandma!!
It used to be a dining space where all the guests gathered and enjoy the big plates. Now it is a relaxing lounge space, and dining space moves to the middle section. It turned out working really well, people can wait before dinner is ready, and after having dinner, moves to this place and enjoy coffee and dessert.
モノが沢山あったのが減って、白い壁の効果もあって、とてもすっきりしました。 There used to be lots of things, and now thanks for the power of white wall, very trimmed.
中央のテーブルをつけたり、離したりして、ゲストの数に応じて配置換えもできます。 By gathering tables in the center, or part it, we can treat large group guests or small group guests flexibly.
My new hobby, pealing wall paper also contribute some on this renovation. The posts in the middle were plastic brown, fake-wood wall paper, and covered with reed screens. Now it's all gone! Mitsu chan and Tae chan will think about what color they want to paint, or maybe putting on plaster.
It used to be just a corridor, where we just pass. Now it becomes kind of gallery space, where we can put even brochure, and hope people can stop and see this space. With new open window and plaster wall, this space became blighter and cleaner.
The most inner space used to be store-space. We again put away lots of stuffs from here and peal walls and re-painted into white. We projected my slides on to this wall and the space is now a nice event space.
Since we don't have any budget, we just did by ourselves with minimum tools and available materials. Great great thanks for Rica san's suggestion, how to re-use, re-design the space, all the member of Okada family and we worked hard and did it. We hope people who knows "Before" will surprised at seeing new KAIYU space. I also expect KAIYU will never stop changing, so we also look forward to seeing the new KAIYU in the future.
Every year, we go Shimanto river for swimming competition. We used to stay at NAKAMURA city close to the river one day before the competition, and every time we came back, we realized the number of closed/shuttered stores gradually increased.
We went to closed department store in NAKAMURA the other day, to shop. We entered the closed down building and, wondering around the products which were covered with dust and not on sale any more, and searched for "something" which we were interested in, and buy it 50% off from the old price seal. In side the building, too old stuffs were scattered everywhere, very retro, nostalgic, broken products. In the top of the building, one woman is still working. Not sure what is her job, but seems like there's another person she works for. Very strange building to me indeed.
I found something which I'm interested in. Old tin BENTO cans and two hot irons. The cans cost about ￥100-250 each. Will those be in use in my daily life? Well, I think it will and I'll try to, but there maybe some possibility that they sit on the shelf again at my home. I wish all the materials I own should be used in my life practically and live together with me. However I love to stock the stuff and just enjoy buying at the same time. It is difficult to have a good balance...
When we cleaned up KAIYU's dining space, we put away many furniture and stuffs into the back room, and I said to Mitsu chan that all those dirty, broken, unnecessary stuff should be thrown away. He responded to me that he is not a person who can dispose stuff easily. He wants to fix everything and make it alive again, that's why he cannot dispose things he have.
KAIYU has rooms and large space, so it's really easy to possess things. Both Mitsu chan and Tae chan like to prepare for "sometime in future" and hope to re-use, revive the stuff they own.
It's just a difference if you see things are already dead or still alive. The stance would be different depends on how much revival skill you have and how much space you have to keep those stuff. Mitsu chan and I have very different skills and space, thus our opinion may never intersect. I just,, want to dispose that broken electronic organ and the old curtain..
"Daddy horse ranch" where Emi san just open her business is the place where she accept racehorses who are retired. She said the retired racehorses would normally get killed in Japan. Once racehorse cannot be a racehorse, they are considered as dead. Living creatures are alive as long as their heart beats. How about material and stuff?? Dead one, alive one, and sleeping one. The diffs between dead and sleeping is a hair's-breadth.
